New research shows that psychological flexibility is the single most important skill for our mental health and emotional well-being.
In a recently published paper, the authors analysed 54,633 studies to learn what factors are most important for improving mental health.
They found that the most common pathway of change is psychological flexibility and mindfulness skills.
Psychological flexibility has three pillars:
- Greater awareness
- Values-based engagement in life
The more we know about how overcoming mental health challenges like anxiety works, the more effective we can be in making these changes and tracking them over time.
