I visited Kew Garden this last Sunday with my family. The Garden is celebrating Christmas with a beautiful light and music trail, which felt so magical as the fresh snow kept falling at night.
I got swept in the moment, and started to dance to the music, not noticing any of the people who were walking the trail with us. My daughter was so embarrassed. I dared her to dance with me, and she sheltered behind my husband.
After a while, she realised no one really cares. People walked by, a few started to swing to the music as they passed us, and someone shouted “Merry Christmas!”
It was a moment of connection without words. I asked my daughter if she would give me the honour of one dance. Her holding my hand and dancing with me was the most magical moment of that night.
The embarrassed look on her face was replaced with a relaxed joyful smile. The best part was when my husband and son joined us. One memory to cherish for the rest of our lives.
