I know that we are not defined by our mental health problems. But I often wonder what I would be like if I didn’t experience social anxiety. Would I find social situations less draining? Would I actively seek out opportunities to socialise in big groups? Would I have a lot more friends?
I tend to think of myself as being quite introverted, but I wonder whether that would still be the case if I weren’t always worrying about doing or saying something stupid, or obsessing over how I’m being perceived by others.
Does anyone else struggle to disentangle being socially anxious from their personality?
